KARLSRUHE, Germany, November 5, 2020 — Enscape, the leading provider of real-time rendering and virtual reality technology for the global Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) market, announced the release of Enscape version 2.9. Version 2.9 is a milestone release fulfilling important customer wishes, including support for Custom Assets, video textures and Vectorworks 2021.
Enscape 2.9 adds Vectorworks to its list of supported 3D modeling programs. Architects, landscape design professionals, and entertainment designers can now plug Enscape into their Vectorworks planning and presentation workflows.
“Enscape is a must-have for anyone working in 3D,” said award winning Architect and Vectorworks Trainer Jonathan Reeves (BA(Hons) M.Arch Dip.Arch RIBA. “Unlike other rendering programs that ‘link’ to Vectorworks, Enscape plugs directly into Vectorworks’ interface, instantly transforming models into immersive real-time 3D experiences. And, because it is not a separate program, it’s very easy to learn and use. If you know how to add a light and texture in Vectorworks, you already know how to use Enscape — the results are just easier, faster and more impressive.”
Fulfilling an essential wish list item, Enscape 2.9 adds support for OBJ, FBX and GLTF models. Enscape users can now create their own bespoke models, configure and store them in Enscape’s new Custom Asset Library, or import and adjust models from sites like 3D Warehouse, Free3D, CGTrader, and TurboSquid. With Custom Assets, designers can find or precisely create the Assets they need to showcase scenes exactly the way they want. For larger firms, Custom Assets can be stored centrally on a server, so they are available to everyone on the design team.
Users will also find a new collection of fitness Assets, including equipment and people exercising. For working offline, these Assets and others can now be downloaded and stored locally, so they are available anytime, anywhere.
For a new level of realism, Enscape 2.9 includes new video textures, which make it easy to create dynamic elements in 3D scenes. By applying video textures, users can replicate video on all types of digital displays from TVs to billboards. They are perfect for adding detail to an interior environment and to create dynamic outdoor experiences.
For a higher level of sharpness, version 2.9 adds displacement maps to Enscape’s Material Editor. Displacement maps add a sense of depth and shadow to textures for stunning realistic results.
In addition to these new features and updates, Enscape EXE, Enscape’s standalone executable, is now available in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
